Meet Joanne

Originally from Derby a small town in the Midlands UK (Imagine rolling hills, sheep and great pastries). I relocated to Canada in 2016.

As a somewhat adventurous soul, I’ve been fortunate to live and work in both BC and Ontario.

I completed my Psychotherapy training at Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy, and opened my private practice in 2019.

Prior to moving to Canada I completed a clinical program at Regents University London UK in Integrative Psychotherapy. With a focus on Psychoanalysis, Existential and Humanistic Approaches.

In Toronto I became fascinated by the body-mind connection, through my own therapy I learned the different ways trauma shows up in our body and nervous system, and pursued trauma training at Sensorimotor Institute. Most recently I completed child and youth related studies, at William Alanson White Institute.

I transitioned to online practice in 2020 and continue to offer psychotherapy services to adults aged 18+ across Ontario.

In my spare time I love music, art, nature and cooking. Anything that evokes the emotions or senses will have me eternally interested :)

I guess that’s why I love working in this field and genuinely believe in the positive changes therapy can have on people’s lives.

To me the most rewarding part of life & therapy is connection and the privilege to hear and hold people’s stories.
